November 19-21, Barcelona
Smart City Expo World Congress
Swedish Delegation

The Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC) is the world’s largest meeting place within the Smart City market. It brings together 800 exhibitors, 21 000+ participants, 700 cities and 400+ speakers, all around the world. This is the best knowledge hub for smart cities today.

Join the Nordic Pavilion

In 2018, more than 100 Swedish and 450 Nordic delegates participated in the seminars, roundtables, matchmaking and networking events – and 32 cities and companies from the Nordics were exhibiting! The Pavilion had visits from delegations and representatives from across the globe, including the US, Spain, Australia and South Korea. Top executives from international companies also met with many of the Nordic delegates. For the first time, we also had Nordic city presenters at the official congress organized by FIRA. Read more about the expo here.

This year, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland and Norway will combine forces to set up a common Nordic pavilion, with an exclusive program for exhibitors, partners and clients. The joint participation is supported by Nordic Innovation.

Why the Nordics?

The Nordic region enjoys a strong brand globally, especially when it comes to quality of life in cities. Key words such as technology, sustainability, trust and happiness have strong connotations to our region. By working together in a Nordic context on a global scene, you will make a stronger footprint towards the world. Based on feedback from previous years, we also know that the intra-Nordic network and collaboration has been a valuable output.

Who should attend as an exhibitor on the pavilion, and why?

Nordic solutions within areas such as Mobility, Digital Transformation, Smart Energy, Water and Waste, Urban Environment and Citizens Involvement are highly relevant for the Expo. We welcome companies, cities and clusters of all sizes to showcase their smart city offerings. Stand delegations consisting of cities, companies and academia have also been successful in the past years. Feel free to get in touch with us to discuss what would be the best solution for your participation.

Value for companies:  Promote your solution to a global audience. Opportunity to create new partnerships and collaboration both at the Nordic and global level. Connect directly with decision makers in cities. Build your brand.  Expand your knowledge horizon. The Expo is relevant for companies of all sizes – start-ups, SME’s and large companies. The important thing is that you have a solution ready to present to an international market.

Value for cities & regions:   Opportunity to promote your pilots, companies and technologies from the region to a global audience. This is an extremely valuable event to help your companies go global. It is also the most important global arena for building your smart city brand, storytelling, networking and inspiration. You can develop international networks, find collaboration partners for EU projects and share best practice with cities from all over the globe. You can even attract talent and resources to the city. Thus, the global arena gives you a chance to connect directly with a wide pool solution providers to match your city’s needs and ambitions. Nordic Cities should attend with political and administrative leaders at a high level.
