Senior Technology Manager

Michael Claes is Senior Technology Manager at SABIC Ventures where he leads SABIC’s global efforts in identifying and acquiring access to unproven technologies utilizing a variety of tools including Venture Investment, Licensing, Joint Development Arrangements, etc.

He is focusing on advanced materials, functional polymers & composites, alternative feedstock, and process, resources & energy efficiency technologies.

He got a PhD in polymer chemistry from University of Liege (Belgium) and fulfilled business education at Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Executive Management. Before joining SABIC Ventures, he acted as Chief Technology Officer and Head of Business Development within start-ups providing solutions for various industries (Automotive, E&E, semicon, Energy) based on specialty compounds.
