ABOUT
The Cleantech Dealflow Webseries is a montly online event, short time (~1,5h), focused audience and just a handful of curated start-ups – scale-ups showcasing.
This is our 6th event and will be focused on “Solar and Wind Tech: Improving installed potential and optimization”.
Participation is included in the regular membership of our members and interested people can register separately and each time by interest.
SOLAR AND WIND: THE HEART OF A CARBON NEUTRAL TRANSITION
The Covid-19 pandemic and resulting economic crisis had an impact on almost every aspect of how energy is produced, supplied, and consumed around the world.
The pandemic defined energy and emissions trends in 2020 – it drove down fossil fuel consumption for much of the year, whereas renewables were largely immune. While the demand for fossil fuels was hardest hit in 2020, low-carbon fuels and technologies, in particular, solar PV and wind, reached their highest ever annual share of the global energy mix, increasing it by more than one percentage point to over 20%. In fact, wind capacity additions increased by 8% in 2020, while another record for global solar PV additions is anticipated for 2021, with nearly 117 GW installed – a nearly 10% rise from 2020.
Solar and wind technologies are at the heart of the transition to a less carbon-intensive and more sustainable energy system and have proven themselves resilient to the Covid-9 crisis. In the wake of the pandemic, investments in grid infrastructure to connect projects and to support integration of their variable output will be key in accelerating the recovery.

EVENT PROGRAMME
While total installed wind and solar PV capacity continues to increase year after year, system disruptions and slowdown are still present. Innovations in infrastructure design and maintenance optimization come to address several of the issues the renewable energy industry faces.
In this event companies will pitch on ways to more cost-effectively operate and maintain offshore wind farms, wind turbines designs that are lighter, larger, cheaper and that can withstand all weather conditions, AI software that brings accurate energy forecasts, a tape solution that can boost solar PV manufacturing and lower costs and renewable energy storage to balanced production and demand.
Read more about the pitching companies in their websites.
