Borealis Wind makes wind energy production more reliable and profitable. In North America and Europe, wind farms lose between 5% and 25% of annual production due to downtime caused by icing. Borealis’ patented Ice Protection System is the most effective solution to prevent production losses in moderate and high icing regions. With systems currently installed at sites across Canada, the company is continuing commercial orders in Canada while expanding to wind farms in the United States and Europe. Currently, wind turbine icing is largely unaddressed due to the lack of feasible retrofit or OEM solutions, presenting an opportunity for Borealis Wind's patented technology to become a global market leader in addressing this problem.
