Mr. Barmasse is a Professional Engineer and Licensed Environmental Professional who has over 38 years’ experience in managing a wide range of alternative energy, wastewater, remediation, and solid waste projects.  He is Arcadis’ Director of Energy Services and leads the company’s efforts in the areas of renewable energy including solar power, wind power, energy efficiency/management and the evaluation of innovative technologies for the conversion of solid waste, biomass and biogas to energy and biofuels. He has specialized in directing multidisciplinary teams in the planning,  permitting, design, and construction oversight of a wide range of energy, remediation, solid waste and wastewater projects, and leads Arcadis efforts in alternative project delivery for energy projects. Mark is currently coordinating efforts in solar and wind project development, food waste anaerobic digestion, gasification and thermochemical conversion of waste, biosolids and biomass to syngas and liquid fuels. He also is a member of the Arcadis’ Sustainability team directing projects evaluating carbon capture, sequestration and reuse technologies to mitigate CO2 emissions and Arcadis’ Transportation Mobility Solutions team supporting the adoption of autonomous and electric vehicles.
