Nordic Cleantech Open Top10 – 8th Edition 2018/2019

After another incredible weekend at Trolleholm, we are happy to announce that the final Top10 companies have already been selected! It was an absolute pleasure to see the companies in action and to hear them pitch, and to see the interest from investors and industry!

A big congratulations to the companies that have managed to reach Top10 on this edition, and a big thank you to all the companies that were at the castle on the weekend. We were very impressed by many of the solutions that were presented, and we want to continue working closely with you in the future!

Next stop will be the Finals, on May 21st in Stockholm.

Nordic Cleantech Open Top25 – 2018/2019 Edition

The Top25 companies of Nordic Cleantech Open for 2019 are here! The level on this edition has been extremely high, and the competition incredibly tight, but our jury has finished selecting the best and most innovative cleantech innovations for the year.

On this edition we had 116 applicants – more than ever before in the history of the competition, showing their cutting-edge technologies and ideas to the international jury of 40+ representatives from venture capital firms and multinational companies. Agriculture, new materials, green mobility, waste solutions’ the solutions never cease to amaze us, and it only shows that Nordic and Baltic innovation is stronger than ever.

Next, the companies will meet the jury and pitch their ideas at Trolleholm, Southern Sweden, 16-17 March. The Top10 cases will continue to the Finals, which will take place in Stockholm, on May 21st.

Special thanks to the jury for their hard work, and to all the companies that put their time and energy in sending their application, especially those that could not reach Top25 this time. There are a lot of brilliant ideas out there, and certainly, we will be hearing about many of you again very soon.

Nordic Cleantech Open Water-saving Winner Revealed!

Out of more than 100 applicants from the Nordic and Baltic countries, narrowed down to 10 most promising clean technologies, which presented at Nordic Cleantech Open Finals, 22nd of May, we now have the Top3 companies revealed. Voted by the Cleantech Capital Day participants as the company with best potential for growth:

The third prize goes to Enjay (Sweden), which recovers energy from the ventilation system of restaurants by condensation – you can get energy savings of about 250,000 kWh per restaurant!

The second prize winner is Heimdall Power (Norway), which provides power grid owners and utilities a neuron to neuron communication solution to get data and operate and optimize the grid safely – anywhere in the world.

And the Winner is Altered (Sweden) with their new nozzle that can use up to 98 % less water than a regular tap! They atomize the water so that it comes out of your tap as small droplets soft for hands, soft for environment.

About Nordic Cleantech Open

The Nordic Cleantech Open is a business competition aiming to identify, strengthen and showcase the new early-stage clean technology companies and business innovations in the Nordic and Baltic regions. Every year we receive about 100 applications, which are reviewed by the Jury based on three criteria innovation, market potential and team.  The jury consist of some 40 international investors and industrial actors. The companies are also screened by their ability to present their case on stage at two occasions.

Real estate team has chosen the Winner of Malmö Smart City Award

Tiny solar cells with enormous potential “Epishine” wins  the Malmö Smart City Award 2018!

Epishine was awarded with the Malmö Smart City Award at the dinner prize celebrations in Malmö, 22nd of May. Epishine impressed the jury with their disruptive potential to change the powering of indoor electronics, such as tiny IoT sensors. The jury was looking forward to try the solution, especially as the trial is easy with just a small investment.

The following real estate owners and developers reviewed the cases and presentations of the Malmö Smart City honorees: IKEA Centres Europe, Midroc, Castellum, Stena Fastigheter, MKB Fastigheter, Trianon, Vasakronan and Malmö Stadsfastigheter.

The award applicants were chosen from the Nordic Cleantech Open competition pipeline.

25 Startups Changing How Business Is Done in a Sustainable Way

The Top25 companies of Nordic Cleantech Open revealed today! The best of the next generation clean technology and business innovations from the Nordics and Baltics have been selected by the jury of Nordic Cleantech Open.

104 applicants showed their cutting-edge technologies and services to the international jury of 40+ representatives from venture capital firms and multinational companies. It was a tight race to make it to the Top 25. There are many great ideas growing out there!

Next, the Top25 companies will meet the jury at Trolleholm, Southern Sweden, 17-18 March, where they get to pitch and improve their case. The companies who move to the Top10 will then continue to the Finals, 22nd of May in Malmö, Sweden.

We thank all the 100+ applicants for this year’s Nordic Cleantech Open cleantech start-up competition for the first application phase. We are delighted to see the new idea flows coming from various cleantech segments and see many opportunities to jump into the exciting action of these companies. 

The Nordic Cleantech Open process will continue next year with jury evaluation, selection of Top25 companies and finally coming down to Top3 and the winner. We’ll keep you updated along the way.

Applications are now open for the 7th round of Nordic Cleantech Open a cleantech startup competition!

Ready to show your cleantech innovation to the world? You can start by showing your work to our expert jury members, who come from various backgrounds – international industrial companies, venture capital firms and cleantech/start-up supporting organizations. This takes a few minutes of your time, but the payback is great! Here’s what you can win:
Participation in  the Nordic Camp, an all-inclusive weekend together with investors, industrials and competition partners at a castle in the south of Sweden
A Pitch at the  Nordic Cleantech Open Finals, which brings together 200 investors, industry and cleantech companies.
Pitch opportunities at the  Nordic Cleantech Showcases,   in   Shanghai, Barcelona, Lyon, Berlin, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Boston  for the most suitable early entrants.

– The early-bird applicants are reviewed by Cleantech Scandinavia and one early-bird applicant will get an opportunity to enter one of the suitable networking events for free so that you can get to the action and create business traction!

The Winner of Nordic Cleantech Open 2017 Revealed!

Cleantech Scandinavia’s Nordic Cleantech Open announced this week the Top 3 winners of Nordic Cleantech Open 2016/17 at the award dinner of Cleantech Capital Day in Oslo. And the winner is, for the first time, from Norway.

The winner of Nordic Cleantech Open 2017 is EnergyNest. EnergyNest has developed a new Thermal Energy Storage solution with game-changing economics for the renewable energy industry as well as for energy-intense industrial applications.

Second prize winner is SoilScout, with a ground-breaking technology providing critical insight into data from deep below the surface, wirelessly, near real-time, and maintenance free for up to 20 years, with the potential to reduce irrigation water and energy use by up to 50%.

Third prize is awarded to ifoodbag. ifoodbag offers an innovative, disruptive and recyclable packaging solution made from a paper composite material that locks in cold and protect refrigerated and frozen food.
